Tools I Use: Password Manager

While most certainly not voiceover specific, this is a must-have tool for me and has been for sometime now. Everyone knows that you should use a strong, unique password for every site you log into. And, if you have as many sites behind passwords as I do, you also know how hard it is to remember different login information for each one.

There are ways to build systems to remember complex passphrases or passcodes but I find that using a password manager is way easier and works very, very well.

Basically, this tool securely stores all of my passwords/passphrases/one-time use codes/etc for all the sites and I have one password to remember to unlock that encrypted database. It works across all of my devices and just makes cyber hygiene a little bit less stressful.

Wired magazine has a great article detailing why you might want to use a password manager and some great options. In fact, their “upgrade” choices, 1Password, has been my choice for a long time now. And this article even told me some features it offers that I didn’t realize were there!
