Tools I Use: Buffer

As I developed my Sky is NOT The Limit video series, I was mostly thinking about content ideas and spending time looking for resources and information about weather, space, the sky and so on. Which was great…no, it IS great! I love the creative process of developing the episodes, writing the script, editing the video and so on.

I quickly realized though, that I really needed to be organized in how I approached my posting of the videos. I wanted to be consistent with the release and not have to remember to click “Post” on a certain day. So, I went looking for a way to help me manage this.

I had used social media management before in my earlier career and landed on HootSuite back in the day. However, it seemed to not be the right tool for this application. Enter Buffer.

Don’t get me wrong, HootSuite is still a a great tool but it seemed to be more for larger organizations at this point and was overkill for my basic needs. Buffer also provides the things I need (and bonus, for free):

• Easy creating of posts
• auto-scheduling
• Upload images from Canva and Google Drive
• Integration with LInkedIn and Bluesky (there are others but these were the ones I needed)

It also gives me some basic analytics, which is helpful. I’m still figuring out how to best use this information and I wonder if there is another tool down the line that I’ll have to incorporate for that. Time will tell.
